If you choose to adopt a dog from Blacktown Pound, DABS, Paws'n'Hooves or any of the otherer local shelters the costs of desexing, microchipping, lifetime registration and basic vaccinations are included in the total adoption fee. Blacktown Pound also participates in a desexing program in conjunction with the University of Sydney's Faculty of Veterinary Science and can try and have your newly adopted pet desexed for free by 4th year vet students (under close supervision of course!). This option also provides soon to be qualified vets valuable practical surgical experience and greatly contributes to their education. |
